Before he became a standout at Boise State, Ashton Jeanty worked his way up as a Dallas-area high schooler. He’ll soon meet with the Dallas Cowboys as he prepares to be selected in the NFL draft.
According to The Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins, Jeanty will visit the Cowboys on April 4. Jeanty, a Frisco Lone Star product, took the college football world by storm in 2024 when he ran for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns.
The running back earned multiple accolades for his strong campaign, finishing second in voting for the Heisman Trophy. Multiple NFL draft experts rank Jeanty as the top running back in this year’s class.
Jeanty previously tabbed Dallas as his preferred landing spot in this year’s draft, noting his strong connections to the area. Although the Cowboys made some veteran additions at running back in free agency, they could still look to add at the position through the draft.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. recently had Jeanty going to the Las Vegas Raiders at sixth overall in his latest mock draft.
Jeanty’s visit will take place two days after the Cowboys visit with another former Dallas-area high school standout. Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is scheduled to meet with the Cowboys on April 2.
