Bill Rosinski has been the play-by-play voice for two NFL teams and worked for ESPN and Westwood One. The Baltimore Ravens told him he lacked experience. Rosinski shared on X Wednesday a form letter he received that was signed by the “Baltimore Ravens Employment Team.” the read the following: “Thank you for your interest in the Play by Play Announcer & ‘Voice of the Ravens’ opportunity with the Baltimore Ravens. At this time, we have decided to pursue other candidates whose background and experience are more closely aligned with the requirements of the position. We appreciate the time and effort you put into interviewing with us. We enjoyed getting to learn more about you as well as share about our team and organization.” The letter ended by directing Rosinski to continue checking the team’s website for job opportunities and wishing him well in his job search. “I’ve been the voice of two NFL teams along with 10 years at ESPN Radio doing college football and three stints at Westwood One,” Rosinski said. “The ‘requirements’ line had me laughing. Oh well, I tried.” The rejection drew criticism from colleagues, including Charlotte Observer sports columnist Scott Fowler, who backed Rosinski while calling out the Ravens. “The original Voice of the Panthers deserved a lot more than this form letter,” Fowler said on X. According to his biography on Compass Media Networks, Rosinski served as the Falcons’ play-by-play voice from 1992 to 1994 before becoming the Panthers’ first-ever announcer, a role he held for nearly a decade. Rosinski has also worked for ESPN, covering college football and basketball games, and for Westwood One, where he called NFL games.
