UFC veteran Mike Perry was recently arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in Florida. The 33-year-old, who fought Jake Paul earlier this year and has also competed in bare-knuckle boxing, was arrested near Orlando at shortly after 1am on October 12. Online records for Lake County Sheriff’s Office show Perry was also charged with refusing to sign a citation requiring a court appearance. He was booked into jail at 4:36am before being released by officers a few hours later. Perry posted a bond totaling $1,500. He is slated to appear in court on October 30. The 33-year-old native spent five years competing in the UFC, winning seven and losing eight of his fights. He made his debut on the undercard of Nate Diaz's rematch against Conor McGregor in 2016, with his final fight coming in April 2021. He is currently the No 1 ranked middleweight in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, having won all five of his fights. But Perry's two forays into professional boxing have ended in stoppage defeats. Back in 2015, he was knocked out by Kenneth McNeil. Then, in July, the 33-year-old replaced Mike Tyson to fight YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul. Perry was dropped in rounds one, two and six before the fight was stopped. This is not Perry's first brush with law enforcement. He was previously arrested for burglary and given a two-year community control sentence - similar to house arrest. A failed drug test, meanwhile, resulted in a few months in jail. 'I played Grand Theft Auto, and I wanted to be like that, I wanted it to be easy like that,' he told MMA Junkie in 2015. 'I smoked drugs, I carried guns, and I thought I was a gangster.' McGregor recently became a part-owner in BKFC and the MMA legend 'fired' Perry before hinting that there may be a way back for 'Platinum'.
