Jon Jones solidified what most MMA fans know, that he is arguably the greatest mixed martial artist the sport has ever seen. Jones handily beat Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, securing his 16th title win, and also squashing the argument that his nonactivity would have led to an upset win for Miocic.

The biggest storyline other than Jones emerging as a champion yet again, is what will happen with the heavyweight division. Jones has been adamant about now facing interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, even going so far as saying he does not want to work with the young heavyweight due to him being an "a******."
Jones spoke in detail about Aspinall before the fight, and even stated after that he wants the UFC to pay him, "f*** you" money to fight his younger counterpart. Even UFC President Dana White explained that Jones would fight Aspinall, though there is no guarantee that Jones agree.
The result of the moments leading up to Jones' recent fight, and following the victory — people have claimed that Jones is "ducking" Aspinall. This led to the heavyweight champion changing his profile pic on Instagram to a duck. Either way, Jones appears to be laughing at the possibility of a matchup.
Now, Aspinall is doubling down on his callout of Jones, even indicating that Jones is "losing sleep" over people claiming that Jones would lose.
Aspinall joined "The Ariel Helwani Show" to state that Jones not only "secretly" wants the fight, but that he cannot sleep due to people claiming that Jones would lose.
"I think he secretly wants it... He hates the fact that people are saying I can beat him. He can't sleep at night... This is all projecting. Deep down he knows," Aspinall stated.
Aspinall claims that Jones has a massive ego due to his standing as the arguable greatest champion ever, and people believing Aspinall would win is what is presumably eating at the champion. Despite Aspinall's claims, Jones has to accept the fight.

Jones has stated that he wants to fight for legacy only. One such "legacy" fight would be against Alex Pereira, who is the current light heavyweight champion. However, White shut that idea down during a post-fight press conference. White believes that Pereira is far too small for Jones, and that would be a huge mismatch.
Still, Jones is the champion, and the choice is ultimately his in terms of either accepting the Aspinall fight (if that is offered) or stepping away from the competition. It will be interesting to see what Jones does in the next few months.
