The UFC returned to Houston for the first time since 2022 on Saturday, taking over Toyota Center. And with professional fighting's biggest league back in the Bayou City, plenty of notable names sat ringside for the action. Rapper and restaurant mogul Bun B, the not-quite-official ambassador of Houston, was the first celebrity in attendance spotted by TNT cameras early in the six-fight card. Bun B was joined by an assortment of stars in the fighting and sports entertainment world, including WWE and WCW professional wrestling great Booker T, plus MMA fighters Waldo Cortes-Acosta, Yair Rodriguez and Rose Namajunas. Bun B was also spotted in the Toyota Center tunnel alongside fellow rappers Tobe Nwigwe and Lil' Flip, plus Houston-raised comedian Mo Amer. Bun B and a deep bench of stars sat near the ring Saturday night. One fighter inside the ring was perhaps Saturday's most famous, or infamous, Toyota Center attendee. Middleweight champion Sean Strickland won the final match of the night in a knockout of Anthony "Fluffy" Hernandez in the third round, though the result wasn't the most discussed moment of Strickland's week. Strickland criticized Bad Bunny and the Super Bowl LX halftime show during a pre-fight press conference Wednesday, in which he called Bad Bunny a homophobic slur. Strickland's microphone was cut off during his post-fight meeting with the media Saturday after he called Khamzat Chimaev, a fighter from the United Arab Emirates, a "goatf--ker." UFC CEO and President Dana White was rather furious following Saturday's last match and press conference. But was White's ire toward Strickland and his comments? Not quite. White said dealing with Strickland is a "nightmare," though he added a portion of the blame belongs on the meida. "You guys don’t help," White said. "Asking him dumb s--t. Ask dumb s--t you're going to get dumb s--t. 'What'd you think of Bad Bunny? What'd you think of the Super Bowl?' Get the f--k out of here. Are you f--king kidding me? So, when you talk about what Strickland says, you guys like to push the buttons."
