Our match of the day session, which I’ll be bringing to you game-by-game very soon, is Australian No 1 Maya Joint v Tereza Valentova of Czech Republic on John Cain Arena. The 19-year-old Joint was born in the US but switched her allegiances to her father’s country of birth after not getting the support she was after in the US system.
