Stefon Diggs saga might be down to two teams

The New England Patriots made a risky gamble when they signed Stefon Diggs in free agency last season. The former Buffalo Bills star was recovering from a major injury and had a long history of character issues and off-field concerns. Diggs had a solid first year in Foxborough, but the Patriots still released him after just one season, signing Romeo Doubs as his replacement. And, with their reported interest in A.J. Brown still not wavering, chances are he won't be back in New England next season. Considering that and how the first dominoes of free agency have fallen, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox believes he might be down to two teams: The Baltimore Ravens or the Tennessee Titans: "Diggs would be a perfect addition for the Baltimore Ravens, who tried to roll with veteran DeAndre Hopkins last year but got underwhelming results (330 yards, 2 TDs)," wrote Knox. "Diggs would be a great go-to target for Lamar Jackson and a strong complement to Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman." Knox cited the Titans' free-agency overhaul and need for an improved supporting cast for Ward as the primary reasons why they might pursue Diggs: "The Tennessee Titans could also give Diggs a strong landing spot. Second-year quarterback Cam Ward could use more receiving help on the perimeter. New offensive coordinator Brian Daboll also previously coached Diggs with the Buffalo Bills," added Knox. Even though he's no longer the same top-tier wideout he once was, he's still a reliable pass catcher who can make plays in the right system. Also, he wouldn't be asked to be the primary weapon for either of those teams. He barely topped 1,000 yards in his lone season with Drake Maye, and even if he closed out the year with a disappearing act in the playoffs, he can still be a solid addition if the price makes sense.
