The milestone victory came by way of a 91-81 win over Calhoun Community College at Shelton State, which improved the Buccaneers' record to 14-4 on the season. Eatmon, who is also in his first term on the Tuscaloosa City Council, returned to Shelton State in 2025 after a three-year hiatus during which he served as the SSCC's dean of community relations. Prior to returning to the hardwood at Shelton State, Eatmon held a 182-39 (.821) career record, going 83-14 in Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) play. He has been named ACCC Coach of the Year five times and led the Bucs to five conference championships in his first six seasons, including four in a row from 2019-2022. Eatmon also took the Bucs to six NJCAA National Tournaments, including back-to-back Sweet 16 tournaments in 2021 and 2022. The Bucs reached their highest national ranking in school history under Eatmon, coming in at No. 4, while also posting a 100 percent graduation rate over his last three seasons. The Bucs will return to action Thursday for a road match at Bishop State Community College. Have a news tip or suggestion on how I can improve Tuscaloosa Patch?
