The Boston Red Sox have been linked to a lot of trade rumors involving All-Star outfielder Jarren Duran for the last few months. The Red Sox have a plethora of outfielders and could look to trade Duran for a star pitcher or a haul of prospects.
There are plenty of teams that could fit as a suitor for Duran. He'd fit perfectly with teams like the San Diego Padres and Kansas City Royals, which is why those two teams have been linked to him the closest.
Just Baseball's Jordan Leandre put together a huge trade package that would send Duran to the Royals in exchange for Kris Bubic, Blake Mitchell, and David Shields.
"The prize here is still Bubic. Despite constant injuries, including one to his rotator cuff that ended his 2025 campaign, this southpaw is a stud," Leandre wrote. "While not in the same way as Crochet, Bubic avoids the barrel, getting opposing hitters to expand the zone and frequently whiff. He’s an expiring contract with injury issues, but he’s a very talented arm."
The Royals need to add one more bat at the top of their lineup to pair alongside Bobby Witt Jr., and Duran would be the perfect option.
The Red Sox could use an additional pitcher like Bubic, as well as a talented young catcher like Mitchell. Both of these players, alongside Shields, would form a haul that would make the Red Sox better in the long run. Adding a high-potential pitcher like Bubic would be exactly what the Red Sox need to build the best rotation in baseball.
