MIAMI GARDENS, FL — Neymar made his debut at the 2026 World Cup in Brazil’s final group stage match against Scotland, and made Brazilian soccer history in the process. Upon entering the match, Neymar became the first Brazilian to wear the No. 10 shirt at four World Cups. The former Barcelona winger has not played for the Seleção since 2023 after suffering an ACL and meniscus tear against Uruguay. He was included in the World Cup squad despite injury concerns, and did not appear in the first two games due to a calf strain he suffered in May. His recovery has progressed well, and he was included in the matchday squad for Scotland. From the 50th minute on, Brazilian fans began chanting for Neymar to enter the game. After the hydration break, Carlo Ancelotti finally gave the Brazilian fans what they wanted. Neymar came on in the 76th minute, with Brazil leading 3-0. The Brazilian fans around the stadium erupted as soon as he began to warm up. They continued to show Neymar love from the moment he stepped on the pitch.
