NBA star Luka Doncic has drafted in one of the most famous divorce attorneys on the planet amid his bitter legal battle with his ex-fiancee. Earlier this month it was revealed that Doncic, 27, has separated from fashion and fitness model Anamaria Goltes, 28, after she filed a petition for child support and attorney fees from him. The Los Angeles Lakers point guard has since asked a judge to dismiss the petition after claiming Goltes filed it in the wrong country, alleging it is therefore procedurally defective and legally improper, and the mastermind behind his legal strategy is none other than Laura Wasser. Wasser, who has gained the nickname 'Disso Queen' due to her formidable track record in celebrity break-ups, was recently hired by Doncic to help him in his legal war with Goltes. The powerhouse attorney has a star-studded list of former clients which includes Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, Dr Dre, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Garner and Ryan Reynolds. She also represented Johnny Depp during his infamous 2016 divorce fight with Amber Heard, while she more recently helped Post Malone earn a legal victory in his child custody case with his ex-fiancee. According to The New York Post, Wasser joined Doncic's legal team days after Goltes filed the petition for child support and attorney fees. One of her first moves was to call on the court to throw out the petition for a number of reasons, including that Goltes filed it in Los Angeles - despite living in Slovenia with their two daughters since last May. Doncic and the children are also not California residents, while he also claims that his partner has refused to join him there over the past year. The basketball player told the judge that he filed a petition in Slovenia before she submitted child support documents in California earlier this month, which addressed both that issue and custody of the children. According to Doncic, who is on a three-year contract worth $165million with the Lakers, he already covers all expenses for two-year-old Gabriela and three-month-old Olivia. He is therefore asking the court to dismiss the petition for being procedurally defective and legally improper. Daily Mail contacted Laura Wasser for comment last week. Daily Mail exclusively revealed that Doncic has quietly filed an injunction demanding to see his two young daughters after Goltes suddenly relocated to Slovenia. After he took time away from the court to travel to Slovenia for his daughter's birth in December, the couple's brief reunion sparked a family rift that is now on track to becoming a bitter transatlantic custody battle. During his visit, Doncic reportedly begged Goltes to allow Gabriela to return to California with him after she'd given birth to Olivia, before police were eventually called to Kranj Maternity Hospital as the dispute turned ugly. He had 'peacefully left the hospital' before she made the call, with cops later arriving at the scene to interview her. They are also understood to have interviewed the basketball player at his home. Officers 'did not detect any elements of a criminal offense or misdemeanor' perpetrated by Doncic, according to the police report.
