DETROIT -- After a quick trip up to New York, the Detroit Pistons are back on Thursday night as they prepare to face the Golden State Warriors and their sharpshooter, Steph Curry. The Pistons continue to chug along and give fans around the Motor City hope that the long-awaited better days of the franchise are here. After a successful homestand, the team went to New York and pulled away to beat the Brooklyn Nets, 113-98. It marks Detroit’s fifth straight win, the first time the team has won that many games in a row since 2019. It moves the Pistons to a tie for seventh in the Eastern Conference, a half-game back of the Indiana Pacers for sixth. The Warriors are hanging around the Play-In picture as well, similar to what we saw from the team last year. Though they still have Curry, most of the core that carried the team to multiple championships over the past decade have since left town. Yet, Golden State is still in the running to make it to the postseason. They are limping a little heading into the Motor City, losing their last two home games before embarking on a four-game trip out east. This is the first of two meetings this year between the Pistons and Warriors. Golden State won both matchups last season. Check out the NBA standings and results on NBA.com
