FIGHT HOUSE ‘Holy s**t’ – Major UFC White House card issue arises for Dana White just weeks before Topuria vs Gaethje at Freedom 250
DANA WHITE has revealed a potentially major issue with the UFC’s White House card.
MMA‘s top promotion will host a historic card at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on June 14.
The UFC‘s security and production teams have been hard at work over the last few months finalising the logistics of the invite-only event.
But they could be forced to make a major change due to an INSECT INFESTATION in and around the South Lawn, which is where the octagon will be situated on fight night.
During an appearance on The Boardroom podcast, White said: “So President Trump just opened The Rose Garden two nights ago.
“He invited me to dinner there. The amount of gnats that are flying around, I’m like, ‘Holy s**t.’
“As soon as I got on the plane, I got on the phone with my head of production and said, ‘Yeah, let me tell you about the gnat situation tonight.’
“When you’re a fighter, think about that lighting grid and the claw we’re going to have [and] the amount of power in the lights.
“Moths, gnats, and God knows what else, fighters trying to deal with that.”
Being at the mercy of the elements and wildlife has put the UFC off holding an outdoor event for the last 16 years.

And despite being extremely excited to stage a card on the White House grounds, the gnat issue has reminded White why he’s not keen on doing outdoor fights.
He said of the gnat problem: “In your mouth, in your nose, while you’re trying to fight.
“I was telling Craig [Bosari], my head of production, I’m like, ‘Maybe we put fans in, because gnats have a bad time in the wind.
“I don’t know. These are all the little details we have to think about. That’s why I don’t like fighting outside ever.”
The UFC Freedom 250 card will be topped by a lightweight title unification fight between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje.
An interim heavyweight title fight between former two-division champion Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane will serve as the co-main event of the evening.
