DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers rookie Trei Cruz will start in left field on Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park. The Tigers (32-44) will try to complete a three-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox (39-36) at 1:40 p.m. Catcher Jake Rogers; outfielders Matt Vierling and Jahmai Jones; and infielder Hao-Yu Lee will be available off the bench. The full lineup is below. This was originally going to be Verlander’s first start at Comerica Park since 2017. Montero had a short stint in the bullpen while the Tigers worked around what was -- very briefly -- a glut of starting pitchers. But Jack Flaherty on the injured list and Verlander likely to remain there for a while longer, Montero has returned to his deserved slot in the rotation. Martin, 29, has launched from obscurity to one of the league’s top starters in 2026, posting 83 strikeouts and 20 walks in 81 2/3 innings.
