HARTFORD/MOHEGAN, CT — History was made Sunday as a regional magnet school based in Hartford took home its first-ever CIAC state championship in boys basketball. Sport and Medical Sciences Academy (SMSA) secured its first state championship in boys basketball Sunday, defeating Stratford High School 71-54 in the CIAC Division III final at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Tigers were led by Elijah Williams, who finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Jaylen DelValle, who added 13 points and seven rebounds. Bishop Rush contributed 11 points and five rebounds.
