BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS - AUGUST 07: Pablo Reyes #19 of the Boston Red Sox reacts after hitting a walk-off grand slam in the ninth inning against the Kansas City Royals at Fenway Park on August 07, 2023 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Reyes played just 85 games in Boston between the 2023 and 2024 seasons, slashing .260/.312/.335 (.647 OPS), hitting two home runs and earning 25 RBI.
Both of Reyes' homers with the Red Sox came in August of 2023 while the Red Sox were in the hunt for a postseason spot. The first of those home runs was a walk-off grand slam against the Kansas City Royals that struck the Fisk Pole atop Fenway's famous green monster.
That month, Reyes hit .310 with a .815 OPS before September would bring the Red Sox down below .500 and out of postseason contention.
Amid Boston's struggles to contend and, at times, even fielding a lineup of major-league-caliber players, Reyes earned the unofficial title of fan favorite among the Fenway faithful.
Reyes spent much of 2024 with the New York Mets' Triple-A affiliate, the Syracuse Mets, where he slashed .290/.371/.493 (.864 OPS) in 63 games.
With 233 major league games under his belt, the 31-year-old could very well see playing time at the big league level with the Yankees next season.
