MUSKEGON, MI – The Hart girls basketball team extended their winning streak to nine games Thursday with a convincing 51-31 win over North Muskegon in West Michigan Conference action. The Pirates jumped out to a 27-14 advantage in the first half and ended the game on a 15-6 run to secure the 20-point win over the Norse. Addi Hovey registered a double-double with 18 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks to lead Hart (12-1), while Natalie Rosema added 10 points and four rebounds, Kelsey Copenhaver had nine points, six rebounds and three steals. Breslyn Porter added six points, two rebounds, and three assists, Rilynn Porter had six points, three rebounds, and five assists, Macy Riley had two points, six rebounds, and two steals and Reese Smith had nine rebounds and two steals. Delaney Young finished with 12 points and five steals to lead North Muskegon (6-7), while Caroline Lamiman added six points and Kaylee Martin had five points. “Hart is a great basketball team, led by the incredible Addi Hovey,” said North Muskegon head coach Jill Young. “It’s been so fun watching her for all these years and we wish her the best in college basketball. The Norse worked their tails off tonight and kept it closer than the final score shows. I couldn’t be more proud. The Cardinals used a 13-2 run in the third quarter to pull away from the Eagles and pick up an impressive win in West Michigan Conference action. Kadence Day finished with 11 points, four steals and four rebounds to lead Orchard View (3-12), while Nazalia Mendiola added eight points and six steals, Jurnee Johnson had six points, three rebounds and two steals and Elixis Scott recorded four points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. Adrianna Raap scored six points to lead Oakridge (2-12), while Cambria Guenthardt added five points. The Red Devils jumped out to a 34-9 lead in the first half and continued to cruise past Crossroads Academy for a convincing non-conference win. Aubrey Goyings finished with 16 points to lead Holton, while Kaylee McMillan added 15 points, Mya Bartolameolli had 10 points and Mia Gidding had seven points. The Panthers used a 14-6 run in the third quarter to take a commanding lead but had to fend off a late-game rally from the Tigers to secure a hard-fought win in West Michigan Conference action. Ethan O’Neil finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead Hesperia (5-11), while Jared Tanner added 10 points. Nathan Miller finished with 15 points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks to pace Shelby (2-14), while Leighton Belasco added seven points and five assists, Zaiden Harris had six points and 10 rebounds and Griffin Olmstead grabbed seven rebounds.
