DETROIT -- Jake Rogers will be behind the plate and Dillon Dingler will serve as the designated hitter for the Detroit Tigers on Saturday afternoon at Comerica Park.
The Tigers (31-44) and White Sox (39-35) play at 1:10 p.m.
Outfielders Jahmai Jones and James Outman; infielder/outfielder Trei Cruz; and infielder Colt Keith will be available off the bench. The full lineup is below.
Right-hander Troy Melton (3-0, 2.81 ERA) will pitch for the Tigers. Left-hander Sean Newcomb (0-1, 2.76) will be the opener for the Sox.
Melton was scratched from his scheduled start on Monday in Houston with lower back tightness.
But the discomfort cleared up quickly and he didn’t require a trip to the injured list.
Melton, 25, has made four starts since being reinstated from the 60-day injured list last month. He’s gone 3-0 with a 2.81 ERA in 25 2/3 innings.
