This past season, former USC quarterback Caleb Williams showed he is one of the best in the NFL when asked to perform in crunch time. The great playmaking Caleb Williams is able to create has emerged in clutch situations. That is one reason Caleb Williams stands above most (not all) NFL quarterbacks. In a recent article, Jeremy Fowler highlights one important factor about Caleb Williams that stands out: "His playmaking is sustainable. Plus, Williams' six fourth-quarter comebacks in 2025 led the league. "He's a closer," an NFL personnel evaluator said. "End of games, he has shown that." One of the most important factors as a quarterback is whether you can show up when things matter the most. Even with the struggles in his rookie season, Caleb Williams showed he could be great late in games, but he just didn't have the right coaching to finish the job. When things all came together for Caleb and Ben, Johnson comes into the picture, Caleb's clutch gene was on full display. That is one factor that gives confidence the Bears will remain in the hunt for a championship moving forward.
