The Buffalo Bills suffered yet another heartbreaking loss to continue their playoff disappointments of recent years, falling to the Denver Broncos by a final score of 33-30 in overtime.
With the season officially over, the Bills are heading into an offseason of change. Sean McDermott, the team's head coach, was fired and Buffalo is currently searching for his replacement. On Wednesday, a strange situation occurred when team owner Terry Pegula spoke out about second-year wide receiver Keon Coleman.
As most fans know, the 2025 season was a challenge for Coleman. He was a healthy scratch for quite a few games and showed no signs of the development the Bills were hoping to see from him.

In his press conference on Wednesday, Pegula made it a point to throw the young wide receiver under the bus.
While defending general manager Brandon Beane, Pegula both took a shot at McDermott and made it clear that drafting Coleman might have been a mistake.
"The coaching staff pushed to draft Keon. I’m not saying Brandon wouldn’t have drafted him, but he wasn’t his next choice,” Pegula said.
“That was Brandon being a team player and taking advice of his coaching staff who felt strongly about the player. He’s taken, for some reason, heat about it and not saying a word about it, But I’m here to tell you the true story."
Following those comments, Pegula is facing major heat. ESPN NFL analyst Field Yates spoke out with strong words about the owner's statement about Coleman.
"Their owner is just throwing a young player who does have immense talent ... under the bus like that. Why are we doing this?" Yates questioned.
Coleman has not become the potential No. 1 target that Buffalo thought he would become. However, he did just complete his second NFL season and there is still time to turn things around.
Throughout his two years with the Bills, Coleman has played in 26 games. He has caught 67 passes for 960 yards and eight touchdowns.
Throwing a young player under the bus is not a good look for Buffalo. Pegula is facing heat from the media and rightfully so. It's also possible that other players around the league will see these comments and decide that they don't want to play for an organization that turns on its own players so quickly.
