Smith defeated Pemberton’s Alex Minchala at first singles, Youssef beat Pemberton’s Joan Minchala at second singles and Connor topped Burlington Township’s Caleb Shin at third singles each by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Moorestown Friends kept it rolling at doubles.
In the first doubles final, Zaydan Lalani and Jason Youssef secured a 6-2, 6-0 win against Cinnaminson’s Nathan Calhoun and Sean McCormick.
The most competitive match of the day took place at second doubles as the duo of Winston Jiang and Kyle Meriwether had to grind out a 6-4, 3-6, (10-6) win in a super tiebreaker over Northern Burlington’s Reyansh Pasupuleti and Nikhil Kapil.
While Moorestown Friends dominated in the varsity tournament, the future also looks bright for the program.
The Foxes’ pair of Noah Hasni and Allan Wang won the junior varsity doubles tournament over Northern Burlington’s Hritik Patel and Arjay Rajesh 6-0 in a single-set format.
Moorestown Friends went 10-5 during the regular season, which included a perfect 7-0 record within the BCSL. The Foxes are a prime contender in the South Jersey, Non-Public state tournament as the No. 5 seed. Moorestown Friends was second in the Power Points standings at the cutoff.
The Foxes open their title run against fourth-seeded Rutgers Prep in the quarterfinals.
