With Major League Baseball’s 2027 schedule now set, the Miami Marlins will open the season at home against the New York Mets on March 25.
The matchup will begin a six-game homestand against a pair of National League East opponents. After an off-day March 26, Miami will finish its three-game series against New York before hosting the Philadelphia Phillies from March 29-31.
It will be the fifth consecutive season the Marlins open at loanDepot park and the sixth time in franchise history they begin the year against the Mets. Miami most recently hosted New York on Opening Day in 2023.
One of the biggest series on the home schedule arrives less than two months later, when the New York Yankees visit Miami from May 7-9. The series finale will be played on Mother’s Day.
The Yankees are among several American League teams headed to loanDepot park under MLB’s balanced schedule. Miami will also welcome the Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays, Athletics, Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins.
The Marlins will play four holiday games at home. In addition to hosting the Yankees on Mother’s Day, Miami will face the Mets on Easter Sunday, the Chicago Cubs on Memorial Day and the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 4.
After completing their opening homestand, the Marlins will make their first road trip with consecutive series against the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies.
Miami’s annual Citrus Series against the Tampa Bay Rays will begin at loanDepot park from July 16-18. The teams will meet again in Tampa from Sept. 10-12.
The Marlins’ other American League road trips include stops in Baltimore, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, Cleveland, Anaheim and Texas.
Miami will end the regular season away from home for the first time since 2024, closing with three games against the Atlanta Braves from Sept. 24-26. It will be the second consecutive season the Marlins and Braves meet in the final series of the year.
The announced schedule remains dependent on MLB and the MLB Players Association reaching a new collective bargaining agreement.
The current agreement expires Dec. 1, and another lockout could follow if the league and players’ union do not reach a new deal. MLB’s previous lockout lasted 99 days and delayed the start of the 2022 season by one week.
