DETROIT -- Jack Flaherty will be on the mound for the Detroit Tigers in Sunday’s series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Tigers (20-26) and Blue Jays (20-25) have split the first two games of the series and play the rubber match at 1:40 p.m. at Comerica Park.
Catcher Jake Rogers; infielders Hao-Yu Lee and Zack Short; and outfielder Jahmai Jones will be available off the bench. The full lineup is below.
The Tigers have lost each of Flaherty’s last five starts, though they failed to score in one of those games. After signs of progress in a 10-strikeout performance May 6 against Boston, Flaherty issued three walks and failed to get out of the fourth inning in a loss to the Mets on May 12 in New York.
Gausman is in his 14th big-league season and fifth with the Blue Jays. He’s pitched well in six career starts at Comerica Park, including last July 26 when he struck out 10 and allowed just one hit in six shutout innings.
