Amidst the hype surrounding last night's fight between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano, Dana White dropped another bombshell, announcing the return of Conor McGregor two fights before the main event. McGregor (22-6), who has not fought in a sanctioned fight in five years at this point, will return to the ring in a rematch against Max Holloway (27-9). The two previously fought on August 17, 2013 with McGregor winning by unanimous decision. The pair, now in their mid-30s (McGregor, 37; Holloway, 34), will look to rekindle that fire that made for must-see television as they duked it out for a featherweight championship. Here's everything we know about the upcoming bout. When will McGregor vs. Holloway 2 be? The fight is currently set for July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. What will the format be? The fight will be a welterweight match (170 pounds) and will take place over five rounds of five minutes each. Most of McGregor's career came while fighting at 145-155 pounds. While McGregor has fought at 170 pounds three times in his career, two of those were non-title bouts against Nate Diaz. Holloway reportedly made a permanent move to lightweight (155 pounds) in 2025. If he maintains that weight in his fight against McGregor, he could be at a massive disadvantage come July. Where will the fight be streamed? The fight will stream on Paramount+. Will there be a co-main event? Yes. The co-main event will feature Paddy Pimblett facing off against Benoit Saint-Denis in a lightweight bout. Pimblett has not fought since January, when he suffered his first career loss in UFC, falling to Justin Gaethje. Saint Denis also most recently fought in January, defeating Dan Hooker, his fourth consecutive victory. What happened the last time McGregor fought Holloway? The last time these two fought was nearly 13 years ago. McGregor emerged victorious by unanimous decision, but tore his ACL during the fight. Still, he was able to hold Holloway off long enough to get the fight through three rounds.
